Mustard Seed is an MCORR Level II Certified sober living home for men located in District Heights, Maryland. We provide safe, structured housing and supportive services that help residents strengthen their recovery, build life skills, and prepare for independent living. We believe that with structure, accountability, and encouragement, men can move beyond past challenges and take meaningful steps toward lasting stability.

Our Housing

More Than a Place to Stay

Our shared home offers a stable environment where residents can focus on recovery, establish healthy routines, and prepare for greater independence. Individualized goals and program phases help guide progress from stabilization through transition.

Location: District Heights, Maryland
Monthly Program Fee: $490, including shared household supplies
Length of Stay: Up to two years, based on engagement, progress, and readiness
Living Arrangements: Shared bedrooms, two residents per room
Program Expectations: Sobriety, drug testing, curfew, household responsibilities, and participation in required meetings and groups

Our Supportive Services

Building Skills. Strengthening Stability.

We help residents develop the skills, confidence, and connections needed to maintain recovery and move forward.

Case Management & Goal Planning: Individualized support to identify strengths, address barriers, access resources, and review progress.
Recovery Support: Weekly sobriety groups, house meetings, and positive peer connections.
Reentry Support: Guidance and community resources for men returning from incarceration.
Independent Living Skills: Support with budgeting, healthy routines, communication, and housing readiness.
Employment Readiness: Support with job preparation and connections to employment resources, workforce development, and educational opportunities.
Health & Wellness: Wellness education, healthy activities, and connections to healthcare and behavioral health resources.
Spiritual Support: Voluntary opportunities for prayer, Bible study, and spiritual encouragement.

Mustard Seed provides housing and supportive services. Residents are connected with licensed providers when clinical treatment is needed.

Eligibility Criteria & Application Process

Applicants must be men age 18 or older who agree to abstain from drugs and alcohol, follow house rules, attend required meetings and groups, and share a bedroom with one other resident. They must be able to cook, clean, care for themselves, pay the $490 monthly program fee, and follow their physical and/or mental healthcare team’s treatment recommendations, when applicable.

Our team follows up within five business days of receiving an application. Admission is based on eligibility, program fit, and available space.

We welcome referrals from treatment providers, social workers, case managers, hospitals, reentry programs, community organizations, family, and friends.

Our Team

Our team includes licensed clinical social workers with over 15 years of combined experience in mental health, substance use treatment, and reentry services. Our team holds master’s degrees in Social Work, Systems Engineering, and Science in Administration, with a concentration in Public and Community Healthcare Management. Our leadership also brings over 15 years of property management experience and over 20 years of program development and leadership experience.

Mustard Seed is further supported by professional advisors, including licensed clinical social workers, certified addiction counselors, consultants, and clergy. Our team brings diverse professional backgrounds and a shared commitment to providing quality housing and supportive services that promote recovery, stability, and independence.
